Nikolai has been practicing in-house and at international law firms since 2007. He has a particular specialism in working with German-speaking clients, having handled the vast majority of corporate, commercial, and financial regulatory legal work within the German Desk at a leading US law firm’s Moscow office. In particular, Nikolai represented minority shareholders in disputes over interested party transactions and dividend distribution; elaborated strategies to limit shareholder liability, resolve deadlocks, handle conflicts between shareholders and local management, and sometimes to expel shareholders.

As a German Desk lead at a Big Four firm, Nikolai excelled in Legal Tech projects and large M&A deals in the telecoms, automotive, and infrastructure sectors.

As for the most recent transactional legal work at the Firm, Nikolai advised on digital assets issuance, stand-by letters of credit facility agreement, security structuring, escrow agreements, trusts and foundations, as well as derivatives.
