Dr. Johnny Hon is a seasoned international entrepreneur, investor, and strategic advisor with over 25 years of experience across private equity, venture capital, healthcare, fintech, and entertainment. As the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the Global Group of Companies, he has overseen and supported the growth of numerous ventures across Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Throughout his career, Dr. Hon has played a leading role in connecting capital, commercial strategy, and cross-border partnerships. He has supported a wide range of high-growth businesses, many of which have reached IPO or significant institutional investment milestones, and regularly advises on global market entry and capital raising strategies.
Dr. Hon has held a number of diplomatic and commercial representation roles and continues to support international cooperation through public-private platforms and business councils. He serves as Vice-President of the 48 Group Club in the UK, which promotes bilateral economic and cultural exchange, and has previously acted as Ambassador-at-Large and Honorary Consul for Caribbean nations.
Dr. Hon has extensive experience in international media and sports. He has produced and financed major film and theatre productions in Hollywood, London’s West End, and on Broadway, with a particular focus on cross-cultural storytelling and brand development. He is also a passionate sports investor, having previously served as Vice Chairman of Cambridge United Football Club and owning a horse racing training yard in Newmarket, one of the world’s premier racing centres. His work in racing, football, and entertainment gives him a distinct edge as a global advisor in sports and media ventures.
Dr. Hon is also active in philanthropy, with a focus on education, healthcare, and youth development. His initiatives have supported rural schools in Asia, bursaries at Oxford University, and public health campaigns—demonstrating a longstanding commitment to creating cross-cultural opportunities and social impact.
