Lead Associate

Abdelmaguid is a Lead Associate with more than 14 years’ experience in litigation and dispute resolution across the UAE and Egypt. He is admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association.

He joined ADG Legal’s Alexandria office in 2019 and moved to Dubai in 2022. He now leads a team of associates on commercial, civil, tort, criminal and insurance disputes before the UAE onshore courts. He acts for UAE and international clients from initial strategy and pleadings through hearings, judgment and enforcement. Alongside his criminal law work, he handles insurance, debt recovery, contract and employment matters, and regularly advises on cross-border issues between the UAE and Egypt.

Before joining the firm, he spent seven years in private practice in Alexandria, Egypt. He represented clients in civil, criminal and commercial disputes before the Egyptian courts, including challenges to arbitration awards and their enforcement.

He co-authored LexisNexis Middle East Practice Notes on insurance contracts and the criminal law in the UAE with Ahmed AlKotby. He has also co-presented ADG Legal’s seminar on the Insurance Laws and Medical Liability Laws.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (2011) and a Master of Laws (2017) from Alexandria University. The Master’s was awarded on the basis of his postgraduate diplomas in Public Law and Criminal Sciences. He also completed TOLES Legal English at Cambridge Law Studio in 2020. He is a native Arabic speaker and has full professional proficiency in English.
