ADG Legal at AIJA Sofia 2026 | 1 to 3 October 2026
Public contracts increasingly sit where procurement rules, regulation and litigation meet. Across the Gulf and Europe, governments and state-linked entities are the counterparty in a growing share of infrastructure, energy, supply and distribution arrangements, and the framework governing how those contracts are awarded, performed and terminated now carries as much commercial weight as the commercial terms themselves.
Risk on a single contract rarely stays in one forum. A procurement challenge, a regulatory intervention and a damages claim can all trace back to the same award, and each may be heard in a different place under a different standard.
Ahmed Alkotby, Partner and Head of Litigation, and Marwa Al Mashgouni, Associate, will attend the Sofia 2026 Litigation, T.R.A.D.E. and Public Procurement Conference, hosted by the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) at the Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia from 1 to 3 October 2026, under the theme The Role of the Government and Courts in the Lifecycle of Contracts, Procurement, Regulation and Litigation.
The programme brings together AIJA’s Litigation, Public Procurement and T.R.A.D.E. (Trade, Retail, Agency, Distribution and E-commerce) commissions. Sessions across the three days address the strategies available to bidders for government contracts, performance obligations between private parties, subcontractors and government entities, the quantification of loss, evidence strategy, and the conduct of government contract litigation across jurisdictions.
