ADG Legal at the AIJA 2026 Conferences in Helsinki
25 to 27 June 2026 · Helsinki, Finland
ADG Legal will take part in the AIJA 2026 conferences in Helsinki, Finland, from 25 to 27 June 2026. Hosted by the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), the programme brings together the International Arbitration, Insolvency, and Labour and Immigration commissions for three days of discussion under the theme “Navigating the legal crossroads between consensus and the greater good.”
Partner Ahmed AlKotby will speak on the international insolvency panel, and Associate Amna Mustafa Abdullah will attend with a focus on the arbitration and cross-border insolvency sessions.
Ahmed AlKotby on the international insolvency panel
On Friday 26 June, Ahmed AlKotby joins the panel “International Perspectives: New Insolvency Tools and Frameworks in a Global Context: Trends from the US, UK and Asia-Pacific.” The session looks at how restructuring and insolvency regimes outside the European Union are being reshaped, from debtor-in-possession models and the UK’s Part 26A restructuring plan to procedural reforms across the Asia-Pacific, and what those developments mean for businesses operating across borders.
The panel is moderated by Thomas Bil of RESOR NV (Netherlands), and brings together:
- Ben Rutledge, Managing Associate, Keidan Harrison (United Kingdom)
- Sophia Rolle-Kapousouzoglou, Partner, Lennox Paton (Bahamas)
- Ahmed AlKotby, Partner, ADG Legal (United Arab Emirates)
Ahmed brings the perspective of the UAE and the wider Middle East to the discussion, a region where cross-border restructuring, recognition, and enforcement questions are increasingly central to international practice. His contribution sits alongside practitioners from the United Kingdom, the Bahamas, and the Netherlands, giving the panel genuine comparative depth.

Associate Amna Mustafa Abdullah will represent ADG Legal throughout the conference, with particular attention to the sessions on arbitration and cross-border insolvency. Her participation reflects the firm’s ongoing investment in international dispute resolution and in the next generation of lawyers driving that work forward across jurisdictions.

Restructuring and insolvency no longer stop at national borders. Assets, creditors, and proceedings increasingly span several jurisdictions at once, and the tools available to resolve them are evolving quickly. For businesses and the lawyers who advise them, understanding how these frameworks interact is now a commercial necessity rather than a technical afterthought. ADG Legal’s presence in Helsinki keeps the firm close to those developments and to the international community shaping them.
